2017 Holiday Gift Guide & GIVEAWAY

Wean Green’s annual holiday gift guide is here and we hope you love it!! This year, we were focussing on quick and easy ideas for holiday parties. Before Wean Green, Melissa spent a lot of time in the classroom as a teacher and has recreated a lot of the foods she used to see at her holiday parties. We’ve chosen our favourite holiday themed recipes that will be great in the classroom or on the dinner table.

These recipes are designed to be fast and easy. If you don’t have the ingredients already in your kitchen you will be able to pick them up at your local grocery store. We understand the importance of getting those last minute holiday snacks into the classroom and still having time to wrap gifts:)!

The best part is that you can get your recipes ready to go and pack in Wean Green or just throw your leftovers in Wean Green and store for the next day. We like to prep all the food ahead of time and store them in the fridge in the containers so it is even that much easier.

HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY! Can anyone ever have enough Wean Green? We don’t think so! Checkout the 2017 Holiday Gift Guide Giveaway HERE!

One of our favorite recipes to make is Chex Mix, but with allergies we have to change it up a bit! We do 9 cups of rice Chex, 1 bag of GF pretzels, and 1 cup of cashews. I melt 6 tablespoons of dairy free butter, add seasoned salt, worchestshire, garlic powder & onion powder to pour over, then bake an hour at 215 degrees.

My favorite is very moist banana bread. Cream 1cup sugar with 1/2 cup butter in large bowl till fluffy. Add 2 well beaten eggs and mix well. Add 3 well mashed bananas and beat till creamy. Sift in 1+1/2 cups flour and 1tsp baking soda. Beat for 2 minutes till batter is smooth. Put in loaf pan and bake at 350 for an hour or till knife stuck down middle comes out dry. Add nuts if desired. Everyone loves this very moist bread.
